Allow me to introduce you to my latest vintage lucky find: A vintage Whistles slip dress… So. Much. Yes.
Featuring a square neck, spaghetti straps, lace and sequins – to me this ticks all the date night outfit boxes and is a statement piece in itself, meaning accessories can be kept simply minimal. There is something about the 90s style slip dress that is so beautifully effortless (not too much, not too little) and when paired with a pair of nude heels, a loose bun and a teeny tiny bag – you have yourself a winning get up.
To be honest I would have liked my shoes to have been way smaller in height because I am edging much more to the kitten heel side as of late – but the colour did work just perfectly with the nude tones in the dress and I was more than willing to suffer a few blisters purely for the sake of a killer lewk. Besides, once I’d glugged down a large glass of wine any thoughts about the well being of my feet had gone right out of the window, if you know what I’m saying?
It’s been a while since I have been in the dating game and it feels incredibly empowering to be feeling confident in myself enough to put myself out there again. On that note, I would like to propose a toast: to fresh starts, to restoring my faith in the male species and to many more excuses to buy new dresses that make me feel EXTRA extra.
